Unpaid internships: Employers and job seekers should know standards

Internships offer great experience, no question. But the question over whether unpaid internships are legal is a source of confusion. Unpaid internships are frequently seen being advertised by small organizations or businesses which lack the ability to pay but need 'free' help.
Sure, an intern may not question being unpaid, but regardless, employers should understand the standards associated with what qualifies as unpaid internships. Not all internships can be 'unpaid'.
