Job Description

Working under the direct supervision of the Program and Resource Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Teacher Ambassador Program through outreach initiatives, program development and educational events.
Your background Includes:

▪ Must be an Ontario Certified Teacher in good standing – do not apply if you do not have your OCT
▪ Academic education and experience to reflect job responsibilities, including an understanding of the Ontario education system to capture full scope of position
▪ An understanding of the agriculture industry an asset
▪ High functioning EQ with track record of professional demeanor and positive attitude
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with a variety of audiences and stakeholders
▪ Working knowledge of MS Word Suite
▪ Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
▪ Creative thinker, self directed and organized individual
▪ Demonstrated ability to problem solve
▪ Demonstrated facilitation of complex programs and outreach methods
▪ Strong team player who can interact with all staff positions and prioritize diverse needs as required
▪ Able to work flexible hours, taking a lead role at conferences and work alongside staff at AgScape events
▪ Reliable transportation
Job Summary:
Teacher Ambassador Program:
▪ Expand the Teacher Ambassador Program to meet AgScape’s program goals
▪ Take a lead role in all promotion and outreach efforts related to the Teacher Ambassador Program
▪ Support all aspects of the Teacher Ambassador Program
▪ Consider new methods and mediums for presenting and promoting agri-food topics in the education sector
▪ Take a lead role in attending events, meetings, conferences and speaking engagements to outreach with educator and agriculture networks
▪ Engage with school boards, faculties of education, subject associations and other educational groups to recruit, promote and develop the Teacher Ambassador Program further
▪ Communicate with a variety of audiences through different forms
Program Development Support:
▪ Assist with the planning, development and delivery of key programming and resources
▪ Support staff in the planning and implementation of education-based events
▪ Steward relationships through educational programs and resources
Resource Management Support:
▪ Assist with the maintenance and uptake of an elementary and secondary resource library
Administrative Support:
▪ Administrative support for Program and Resource Manager as required
▪ Respond to a variety of office tasks as needed
