Upper Thames River Conservation Authority
The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is currently accepting resumes for the 12 month long-term contract position of Water Control Structures Technologist. This position is responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance of the Water and Erosion Control Structures (WECS) that are owned by the UTRCA or managed by the UTRCA under agreement with municipalities. The WECS are operated and maintained to protect life and property while promoting a healthy watershed ecosystem. The Water Control Structures Technologist is also responsible to provide technical support to other functions within the Water & Information Management Unit and the Authority.

Qualifications: • A diploma from an accredited college in engineering or engineering technology specializing in civil, water resources, or in related structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering; OR a bachelors degree from an accredited post secondary institution in engineering, specializing in civil or water resources.
• Eligibility for membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians/Technologists as C.E.T. or the Professional Engineers of Ontario as an EIT is required.
• At least 2 years practical experience in water resources or infrastructure management related projects including computer modelling of related systems, construction techniques, project management, and report preparation.
• A thorough knowledge of computers and computer software packages related to this field. • A valid Ontario Driver’s Licence is required.
Wage/Benefits: $28.74/hr – $34.97/hr
Full time hours – 35 hours per week
