Restoration and Retention Team Leads (2 Positions – AB DUC Offices)

What You Will Do
As a member of the Restoration and Retention Team, you will be responsible for leadership and direct oversight of conservation staff and their day-to-day activities. You will work closely with the Head of Conservation Programs to implement and deliver programs based on the provincial budget and objectives set out for Alberta.

· Be a persuasive, goal-oriented individual, that can work towards broad objectives, while effectively managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
· Be able to develop staff skills and overall performance through coaching, guidance and feedback to team members
· Show the ability to deal with diverse problems that require interpretive thinking and exercise of independent judgment.
· Recognize the importance and value of environmental stewardship within the agricultural sector.
· Have the communication skills that enable you to deal effectively with various types of individuals, including the public, government, agribusiness, and the hunting community.
The successful candidate will have an affinity for the outdoors, conservation and the world of waterfowl.
Your personal and professional experience and directly related knowledge make you the ideal candidate for this position.
Requirements
· A post-secondary degree or diploma in wildlife management, biology, ecology or related discipline; a Land Agent or Agriculture diploma with relevant work experience will also be considered.
· Experience in planning, reporting and project management.
· Excellent organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Knowledge of sustainable resource management, waterfowl, and animal/plant biology would be considered an asset.
· Knowledge of agricultural operations and practices, annual crop and forage/grazing production systems.
· Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience in conservation program delivery, natural resource management or a related field.
· Strong computer and analytical skills.
· Previous sales or cold-calling experience would be an asset.
· Familiarity with the non-profit and/or environmental conservation sectors would also be considered an asset.
· Professional designation would be considered an asset.
