OVERVIEW 

Long Point Basin Land Trust is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join our small but mighty staff in the position of Explore the Outdoors (ETO) Program CoordinatorYou will use your passion for nature to play a key role in delivering Long Point Basin Land Trust’s ETO program. The ETO program is part of Long Point Basin Land Trust’s vision to inspire and engage the community in conservation through meaningful and educational outdoor experiences. The successful candidate will support the planning, promotion, and delivery of ETO activities, connecting participants to the natural world and fostering an understanding of Long Point Basin Land Trust’s conservation goals. 

JOB TITLE 

Explore the Outdoors Program Coordinator 

LOCATION 

Anywhere in the Long Point Basin – Elgin, Norfolk, Haldimand, Brant and Oxford Counties. The main workplace of this position is the Land Trust office in Port Rowan, ON, with the occasional ability to work from home following a schedule agreed upon with the Community Engagement and Marketing Manager and the Executive Director. It will also require travel across the Long Point Basin. 

TERM AND SALARY 

The term of this position is from May 5, 2025, to August 29, 2025. This position is compensated from $20 to $23 per hour (depending on experience and skills) and based on a regular work week of 37.5 hours. Some weekends are required.  

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A passion for nature and conservation, with an interest in outdoor education.  
  • Post-secondary studies in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Studies, Education, Communications, Recreation, or a related discipline).  
  • Experience in event coordination or educational program delivery is an asset.  
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including social media proficiency.  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.  
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions.  
  • Access to reliable transportation is required.
