Employment Type: 12-month, full-time contract, with possibility of extension

Organizational Background
Forests Ontario, working with its partners, is dedicated to the renewal and stewardship of Ontario’s forests. The goal of the organization is to support and promote forest restoration, stewardship, education and awareness initiatives.
The Job:
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the delivery, organizing/planning, and reporting on all of Forests Ontario Events. These events may include, but are not limited to, Community Tree Plants, Annual Conference, Toronto Christmas Market, education-based events, staff meetings/outings, education and outreach events. The Events Coordinator will work alongside all departments within Forests Ontario to ensure that events are delivered in a professional and efficient manner, fulfilling all contractual obligations between Forests Ontario and our partners.
Responsibilities:
o Implement and coordinate a variety of project-related tasks that pertain to the planning, executing, and reporting for virtual and in-person events
Provide ‘onsite’ (in-person and virtual) event coordination and supervision including set up, onsite execution, and tear down
o Liaise with event attendees, sponsors, venues, suppliers, vendors, partners, volunteers, and co-workers to ensure clear and consistent communication, and requirements are addressed and met in a timely manner
o Schedule and coordinate events with team members
Assist with tracking deliverables and timelines to ensure project is on schedule
Support the development of project related products and promotion material in conjunction with fellow staff members
Ability and flexibility to travel at various times throughout the year, as required
Flexibility with respect to working hours; able to work additional / varied hours / on weekends, as required
Your Qualifications:
o University Degree or College Diploma in Forestry, Event Management, Marketing, Education, or relevant work experience
o 2-3 years event coordination experience for an array of events (i.e., conference, community engagement events, awareness promotions, workshops, meetings, etc.)
o Experience implementing and planning in-person and virtual events with more than 50 people
o Experience liaising with project stakeholders (partners, suppliers, venues, sponsors, etc.), ensuring a positive working relationship and outcome
o Proficiency in English/French is considered an asset

o Able and willing to do hands-on work, as required
o Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with online meeting and event applications, as well as CRM software
o Demonstrated interest in forestry and the environment
Salary Range: Commensurate on years of relevant experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position.
