Field Marketing Specialist

Reporting to the Canadian Marketing Manager, the ideal Field Marketing Specialist will deliver best-in-class consumer marketing programs for our regional partners. This individual will be an energetic and self-motivated individual with strong communication, organizational, relationship building, and problem-solving skills. This candidate should have a strong passion and interest in the outdoor industry. The Field Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Canadian marketing team to bring the brand voice to life digitally as well as on the retail floor. Additionally, this individual will partner with key retailers to drive sell-through and represent the brand during major marketing and product activations.
The ideal candidate is located in the Greater Toronto Area.
Primary Duties
- Responsible for taking the global marketing platform and bringing it to life at the local level (social, events, in-store, and with retail partners)
- Responsible for identifying, briefing, and building strong relationships with Canadian influencers, ambassadors, and athletes across Canada on behalf of the brand
- Work with account executives to align on strategic priorities by channel, product and territory, driving sell through performance at retail
- Work to improve retail partnership through positive relationships, staff training and education, and by building retailer specific programs to engage consumers and drive brand demand
- Responsible for planning and executing consumer or retailer events (e.g. store meetings, events, tradeshows, demo nights, product knowledge seminars) as needed
- Maintain and track monthly travel and marketing budgets
- Complete detailed and accurate field activity reports via field reports with sell through, pictures, competitive set, and marketplace intel.
- Maintain organization of office and appearance of equipment as well as travel schedule, including office time and several overnights throughout territory or as needed
- Help create ideal in-store environment based on global merchandising guidelines in key accounts. Secure best placement and visibility for point-of-sale assets, utilizing available POP and ensure in-store assets align with global calendar
- Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- A formal education and subsequent undergraduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
- Strong digital tool-kit in either content creation or social media management for a retailer
- Experience in retail, especially within an outdoor industry
- Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and have a passion for the industry with a personal connection to the outdoors
- Must be ambitious, organized, and have strong time management skills
- Strong leadership, initiative, and communication skills
- Must be outgoing and personable to handle daily interactions with peers, accounts, and consumers
- Ability to manage diverse needs and expectations of the retailers they service
- Ability and availability to work some nights and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) due to retail promotions and events is a must
- Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills along with a strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to meet strict and demanding deadlines
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet Applications, and Social Media
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office and retail store environments, as well as indoor and outdoor athletic events. Frequent travel required.
