Silviculture Specialist
$68,008.54 – $85,592.73 annually(plus $38.87 Bi-weekly Isolation Allowance)
The Ministry of Forests administers many legislative authorities for lands and resources and provides clients with a single point of access to natural resource authorizations and resource management services at many locations across the province.
The Silviculture Specialist is responsible for providing reforestation and stand tending advice and support in the development and operation of the Forests for Tomorrow initiative. This position develops plans and proposals, evaluates priority areas for reforestation and assesses proposed silviculture strategies. The professional translation of silviculture theory and knowledge into optimal operational rehabilitation and reforestation strategies is key to these functions. As a program expert, the Silviculture Specialist provides program extension services and analytical support to professional and technical staff throughout the region, including field services, BC Timber Sales and industry.

Qualifications for this role include:
Degree in Natural Resource Management or equivalent.
Registration as a professional forester or eligible for registration within 6 months.
Demonstrated experience coordinating work teams and projects.
Preference may be given to applicants with 3 or more years of silviculture experience.
