Human Dimensions of Wildlife Specialist
$72,724.97 – $83,014.85 annually
The Ministry of Land, Water and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and natural resource management, including leading the Together for Wildlife Strategy. The Together for Wildlife Strategy reflects government’s commitment to making significant new investments and developing new partnerships to deliver wildlife stewardship in collaboration with Indigenous governments, local governments and partners, supported by engagement with British Columbians.
The Human Dimensions of Wildlife Specialist is Together for Wildlife’s authority on the human dimensions aspects of natural resources/wildlife management and is relied upon to lead and manage scientific research and provide expert advice and recommendations to inform policy and program development.

Qualifications for this role include:
University degree with specialization in human dimensions of wildlife research or a related discipline (e.g., anthropology, human dimensions of other environmental fields) and at least 5 years of recent, related experience*
*Recent (within the last 10 years) employment experience must include all of the following:
Experience working in a senior research role, leading, and managing human dimensions research to inform public policy related to natural resource/wildlife management.
Experience providing expert advice and recommendations to senior decision-makers.
Experience engaging with a wide network of people, such as Indigenous Nations, and stakeholders, to gather input on human dimensions research.
