Web Graphics Designer
Job Title: Web Graphics Designer (Canada Summer Jobs Position 2020 – Temporary)
The Ontario Invasive Plant Council is seeking a creative team player to help us respond to changes in our business model due to COVID19. The web graphics designer position will improve our website, social media, graphics design, as well as support the shift to online learning and support. The ideal candidate will have the ability to translate our business needs into user friendly functions. Knowledge of Invasive Plants and a passion for the outdoors would be an advantage.
Key projects include,
- Development of digital tools to support the remote delivery of education programs
- Assist in the development of online learning materials
- Review, make recommendations and implement approved changes to,
Websites, Social media, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube - Conversion of downloadable materials to friendly print at home documents
- Develop social media plan to launch of 5 new Best management Practices
- Develop a social media schedule
Skills:
- Professionalism in working via telephone, electronically or face-to-face,
- Strong computer skills in WordPress, Adobe, MS Office, and social media, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.,
- Strong oral and written communication,
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference,
- Capacity to work independently and as a member of a small team.
Due to the pandemic our office in Peterborough is currently closed. Until such time that the office re-opens, this position will require you to work from home, have access to a computer and internet. We are a small team, working remotely and familiarity with Office365 and Teams would be of assistance. We are seeking a team member that will assist us in leveraging the internet to transition our business in response to these challenging times.
This is a contract position, 35 hours per week starting June 22nd for a minimum of 8 weeks with the possibility of an extension for an additional 8 weeks depending upon funding. Salary: $14 per hour. This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. Candidates must be under the age of 30 at the start of employment. Returning to school is not a requirement for this position.
