Technologist
Technologists in our Regulatory Division provide front-line service to a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, ranchers, local governments, water agencies and organizations, and Qualified Persons and firms involved in water management. You will be a contributing team member within the new Agricultural Water Management Branch – with a focus on advancing network (watershed-based) agricultural drainage approvals and/or resolving complex drainage complaints – providing value to the province’s agriculture industry, rural communities, and Saskatchewan’s natural resource base. Experience in the agricultural sector is a key asset.
You will apply your knowledge and gain experience in client service, stakeholder communications, ground and aerial survey techniques, field observation skills, air photo interpretation, provincial legislation, regulations, policy, and related principles, and applicable legal documentation procedures. In this role, you will proactively engage with Saskatchewan citizens, respond effectively to potentially difficult situations, and build your capacity to independently handle complex issues to assist in achieving WSA priorities and objectives.
The successful candidate should possess a diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline, and will have, or will immediately obtain and maintain registration with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (formerly SASTT) as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) or another relevant Professional Association. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
