The position

This position is responsible for the coordination and review of municipal planning and development proposals circulated under the Planning Act including official plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, site plans, minor variances, severances, subdivision and condominium applications, maintaining files within our information management system, liaising with community members, development firms, landowners, municipal partners and professional networks, and contributing to the strategic goals and advancement of Kawartha Conservation.

You possess strong project management, time management skills, and appreciate the challenge of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

You demonstrate an ability to work with and communicate complicated legislation and regulations in an accessible and easy to understand manner.

You possess knowledge and experience in planning record keeping, information management, and file administration.

You appreciate the freedom to make independent technical decisions within the scope of your expertise and in keeping with provincial and Kawartha Conservation policies, guidelines, and procedures.

It is important to you to hold oneself accountable for effectively meeting and exceeding organizational program goals.

You appreciate working in a team environment where supporting the success of others is just as important as your own success.
