Position Details: 12 Month Fixed Term, Full Time
Salary Range: Starting salary at $43,800, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with each individual’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
Location: Fredericton, NB or Amherst, NS – Hybrid work arrangement may be possible.

What You Will Do
In this position, you will help deliver community outreach initiatives primarily in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, in support of the regional conservation program and its biodiversity, climate adaptation and resiliency goals.
As a team member, you will:
- Support both the education and communications programs under the supervision of team leads.
- Help develop and launch new outreach programs that respectfully incorporate various knowledge systems, promote awareness of wetland values, and inspire conservation action.
- Help develop and deliver partnership events and activities with community and municipal groups, government, and Indigenous communities.
- Coordinate committee meetings and foster collaborations to identify, develop and promote wetland conservation through a Treasured Wetlands partnership program.
- Support the Atlantic region’s communications program through social media and other content creation.
- Assist in funding proposal development and reports to government and foundations to support the Outreach Program.
You are an enthusiastic team player and a self-starter, capable of seeing the bigger picture and thinking creatively. You are an effective communicator who builds positive working relationships.
Requirements
- A combination of education, skills and lived experience will be considered for this position. Completion of a natural resources, biology, ecology, education, or communications diploma is an asset.
- Experience in ethical knowledge-gathering and sharing in support of Indigenous-led conservation.
- Experience creating strategic content for social media.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
- A valid class driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing, reporting and budget tracking.
