Water Monitoring Technologist
Do you have a genuine interest in keeping land and water resources safe and sustainable in our communities and possess the skills to complete water monitoring activities? Do you enjoy technical and outdoor field-orientated work, have the skill set and experience in dynamic lake, stream and river conditions, and able to perform duties in all types of weather conditions and all seasons?
Reporting to Water Quality Supervisor, the Water Monitoring Technologist will be part of the ambient environmental monitoring team located in Edmonton, and will be involved in projects throughout the province, with concentrations in Northern Alberta watersheds.
Responsibilities includes:
• Assisting with all areas of ambient environmental data collection activities.
• Responding to environmental emergencies on Alberta waters (e.g. Oil and chemical spills, flooding, drought, aquatic invasive species).
• Carrying out Surface Water Quality sampling programs on lakes and rivers.
• Undertaking project-level planning with the manager, supervisor and Scientific lead.
