There are multiple, full-time positions available. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work at least two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Senior EIA and EIA Biologist
BIO 24R: $76,071.18 – $86,658.48 annually, BIO 27R: $85,813.18 – $97,879.22 annually
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy is responsible for the protection, management and conservation of BC’s water, land, air and living resources. The Ministry’s Environmental Protection Division works to protect human and environmental health, with the main goals of improving air quality; reducing greenhouse gas emissions; improving surface and ground water quality, including drinking water sources; maintaining a provincial plan for reducing and removing toxins and waste that contaminate the land, air and water.
The Senior Environmental Impact Assessment Biologist and Environmental Impact Assessment Biologist positions are provincial specialists in aquatic environmental impact assessment. The successful candidates for these positions have the ability to draw conclusions on complex technical issues, using advanced analytical reasoning and sound judgement skills.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Registered, or immediately eligible to register, as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) with the BC College of Applied Biologists (CAB).
- Bachelor’s Degree in biology, environmental studies or various multi-disciplinary resource management studies, or other related fields, and three (3) years of related experience; OR,
- Other relevant combinations of education and experience such as a Master’s Degree in a related field, plus two (2) years of related experience may be considered.
