Advisor, Indigenous Relations
$69,969.42 – $89,774.32 annually

The Advisor is responsible for leading Indigenous consultation on statutory authorizations and decisions that support natural resource use and development in the South Coast Region.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area (i.e. Forest Professionals BC, Institute of Agrologists, Engineers and Geoscientists BC).
- Degree in a natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by the relevant BC association.
- Related and recent experience working in natural resource management.
- Recent (within last five (5) years) experience working with Indigenous communities and participating in consultation, engagement, and/or negotiation processes.
Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience building collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, in areas of natural resource management or land use.
- Experience undertaking research, writing reports and documents and presenting results or conclusions.
- Experience in negotiating or facilitating solutions to complex issues and resolving or mitigating conflict.
- Experience working with BC government natural resources statutes, regulations and policy.
- Those who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).
