Wildlife Program Coordinator
$69,185.43 – $78,814.47 annually
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Engineering group develops and implements province-wide engineering and environmental standards, policies and procedures to support the application of those standards and provides engineering and technical services to ministry projects throughout the province.
The Wildlife Program Coordinator is part of a team responsible for delivering the Ministry’s province-wide wildlife/vehicle collision reduction program designed to protect both drivers and wildlife on our roads. This position requires contract administration, First Nations and public consultation and education, and coordination with non-profit organizations and local governments. This position also works alongside regional and district ministry staff to coordinate activities and provide guidance on our wildlife infrastructure investments, such as exclusion fencing, wildlife crossing structures and signage.

Qualifications for this role include:
- An Undergraduate degree in an environmentally focused program (e.g., Biology, Environmental Studies/Management) plus 2 years of related experience; or
- A Diploma in one of the above-mentioned disciplines and 3 years related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Preference may be given to applicants with knowledge and experience in the planning, design, construction, and operational phases of wildlife/vehicle collision mitigation.
- Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.
- Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position
