NRSI is currently seeking a qualified individual to complete insect surveys within pollinator-focused restoration areas. This restoration work is part of an initiative to provide guidance and seeds to 100 farmers in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba resulting in 1-3 acres on each farm being converted to non-farmed pollinator habitat. NRSI will provide accommodations and associated travel expenses, including a rental vehicle, for the duration of the associated project field work.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be based in NRSI’s Calgary office, however a home-base in Manitoba or Saskatchewan would also be considered an option. This is a part-time contract position with a start date of June 1, 2020. A minimum of 45 hours per month are guaranteed, the majority of which will be spent in the field.
The successful applicant will have a B.Sc in Biology or Environmental Sciences. A similar degree or demonstrated technical knowledge and/or training will also be considered. A valid driver’s license and insurance eligibility is required.
The successful applicant will have skills and experience in the following areas:
