Inuvialuit Game Council (IGC) Senior Policy Advisor
(2-year term with possibility of extension)
Are you passionate about protecting the wildlife and environment within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR)?
The IGC Senior Policy Advisor provides strategic advice on IGC policy areas, external requests for consultation and relevant research projects, programs & services that may impact the ISR.
The focus is on providing high quality, timely briefing notes, position papers and policy statements to ensure that the interests of the IGC and Inuvialuit people are protected.
The successful candidate will have an applied science degree (Master’s preferred), at least four years of related work experience in Northern Canada and prior experience working within federal, territorial and co-management environments. The Joint Secretariat is open to candidates that have a relevant combination of knowledge and experience in lieu of formal education.
Preference is given to candidates with knowledge of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, prior living and/or working experience in Northern Canada and a proven ability to work independently and without close supervision in a co-operative environment.
