Conservation Project Coordinator (full time position)
The Opportunity
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), one of the nation’s leading conservation organizations, is looking for a highly organized and proactive individual to join our Boreal Team as a Conservation Project Coordinator.
In this position, you will provide leadership for all project coordination processes and ensure deliverables and financial controls are met and in place. You will perform a wide variety of project management activities including, but not limited to:
· Developing a timeline and oversee the progress to ensure that goals are achieved on a timely manner.
· Working with the legal department in the development of agreements to forward to consultants and develop consultant agreements for direct consultant’s approval
· Analyzing revenue and expenditures, monitoring projects and funding arrangements, evaluating projects for efficiency and effectiveness in conjunction with Conservation and Finance leaders
· Overseeing purchase order, receipt and recording payables associated with project sub-recipients/contractors/vendors
· Supporting management by maintaining external funding partnerships data, including preparing proposals, preparing for funding negotiations, and reporting and administering audits
· Monitoring contracts and agreements for compliance and working with the legal department, as needed or required.
· Engaging directly with funding recipients to ensure on-time and comprehensive reporting and deliverable deadlines and financial transactions are met.
Requirements
· At least 10 years of experience in project coordination, management and financial support/accounting/project management required
· A Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting/Project Mgt. or Bachelor of Science in Accounting with an emphasis in project management is preferred.
· Associate Project Management Certificate Program or similar certificate is considered an asset.
· Government of Canada – Grants Management Certificate Program experience is also preferred. If taken, core courses should include Managing Federal Grants and Cooperative Agreements, Cost Principles associated with Circulars, Uniform Administrative Requirements, and Applying for Federal Grants and Cooperative Agreements.
· Strong planning, reporting, and project management skills
· Proficient with MS Office and related project management and tracking software
· Demonstrated excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
· If working from a remote location, must have access to a reliable internet connection.
