


Bayside Astronomy Program Manager
The Bayside Astronomy Program Manager will give star talks and operate telescopes to provide stargazing to members of the public at 4 locations on the Northern Bruce Peninsula. The position will also involve marketing, maintaining a Facebook webpage, assisting in fund raising activities and generally being an evangelist for dark skies and the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association. This is a paid position from July 1 through Sept 4 with a guaranteed 35 hours of work per week for 10 weeks at $17/hr. This position does require night time work and work on weekends. The position requires a student in first or second year university preferred, must be under 30 years of age, with a knowledge of or interest in Astronomy, Physics or the environmental sciences. A drivers license with a clean record, and access to a car is required. Accommodations in the area (about 30 minutes north of Wiarton) preferred but we can provide inexpensive accommodations if required. This is an exciting position with lots of interaction with the public, mentoring by amateur astronomers, and a beautiful location.
