Forensic Biologist
To successfully complete these objectives, the candidate will require a thorough understanding of the requirements and procedures involved in the handling and analysis of evidence. The successful candidate will also possess a deep understanding of microsatellite analysis and DNA sequencing. Knowledge of specialized technical skills and investigative techniques, applicable provincial and federal acts along with other related statues affecting investigations is required to perform the role. The candidate will have a thorough understanding of the relationship between the branch and other organizations, departments and agencies, combined with an ability to work collaboratively to meet objectives. Highly developed communication skills, advanced organization skills, timely decision-making abilities and the skills to be part of a team are essential to the role.
Equivalencies considered are Ph.D in a scientific discipline or a related field combined with two years of related experience; or a Master’s degree, DVM or MD plus four years related experience. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary. A valid driver’s license is required.
