The OWC is seeking 4 outgoing, dynamic leaders to assist with restoration projects and support our education and engagement efforts in the headwaters of the Oldman Watershed. The aim of OWC’s Engaging Recreationists project is to raise awareness about watershed issues and encourage backcountry users to adopt best practices. These exciting positions require exceptional communications skills and a willingness to engage in hands-on stewardship actions.
The positions are based in Lethbridge (1-2 days per week), while the remaining 3-4 days will be spent travelling throughout the headwaters of the Oldman watershed conducting backcountry surveys, restoration, stewardship, and outreach activities. Many weeks will involve camping. If funding permits, Outreach Assistants will also be CABIN trained and conduct stream sampling.
Duration: May-August 2021, with possibility for extension into the fall for those who are available.
