General Manager/Secretary-Treasurer
The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is currently accepting resumes for the permanent, full time position of General Manager/Secretary-Treasurer.
The General Manager/Secretary Treasurer is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Authority and reports to the Board of Directors and the Hearings (Executive) Committee as required. The General Manager has full charge and direction of all employees of the Authority and is responsible for directing, co‑ordinating and evaluating the development and execution of programs, policies and decisions, consistent with the direction of the Strategic Plan. The General Manager carries the statutory responsibilities of Secretary-Treasurer under the Conservation Authorities Act of Ontario, R.S.O. 1990.

Qualifications:
Education
· A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree from a recognized university in an appropriate discipline such as resources management, geography, environmental science, engineering or business/management. Preference will be given to masters’ degree in public administration.
· Valid Drivers’ Licence is required
· Graduation from Conservation Authorities University preferred
· A current satisfactory Criminal Records & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
Experience
· Five to eight years’ experience in a senior management role in the private or not for profit sector or with a public institution, preferably in the area of conservation and natural resources management, and familiarity with the legislation pertaining to this field
Skills, Knowledge and Ability
· Outstanding communication skills with a diverse stakeholder group involving the community, governments and agencies at a political and staff level.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities, with particular emphasis on strategic development, organizational structuring, team building, stakeholder involvement and evaluation, and for maintaining a corporate culture that attracts and retains staff.
· A regular use of highly developed and proven effective counselling, mediation, persuasion and/or negotiation skills where the issues are complex, communication is difficult or the outcome contentious.
Wage/Benefits:
$111,584.00 – $136,464.00 per annum (pending budget approval)
35 hours per week, Flex time

Location:
Position to be located in the award winning LEED Platinum Watershed Conservation Centre located in Fanshawe Conservation Area, London.
