Water Security Agency is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Dam Safety unit as a Technologist in our Regina location.
Reporting to the Manager, Dam Safety, Technologists in this group will provide engineering technology expertise and support for a variety of activities directly related to the Dam Safety Program. This will include conduction inspections/assessments of project works, assisting in the administration of professional services agreements, help preparing dam safety manuals, plans and other documentation. If you like to get out into the field, you will provide on-site technical expertise and support the planning and coordination of on-site programs.
You will apply your knowledge and gain experience in conducting and documenting inspections while collecting data. Contribute to internal dam safety reviews. Evaluate the current conditions of embankments, concrete structures, public safety controls and other infrastructure work at the dams. You will also support the preparation and maintenance of select dam safety documents including Emergency Action Plans as well as Operation, Maintenance and Surveillance manuals to ensure WSA dams are operationally ready.
The successful candidate should possess a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline and is eligible for certification with Technology Professionals (SASTT) Saskatchewan as an Associate Member. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
