Inuvialuit Game Council (IGC) Resource Management Coordinator
Base salary starting at $102,216 per year
The Inuvialuit Game Council is looking for a Resource Management Coordinator to support the work of the council, at our office located in Inuvik, NT. The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the IGC to meet its mandate. The mandate includes being responsible for upholding and administering Inuvialuit harvesting rights as well as representing the collective Inuvialuit interest in all matters related to renewable resource management in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR).
Responsibilities:
Through collaboration with internal and external colleagues, the IGC Resource Management Coordinator is responsible for the following:
Have a strong knowledge of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), particularly those sections dealing with Fish and Wildlife Management sections, as well as environmental screening and review processes.
Administration of the IGC includes taking meeting minutes, drafting correspondence, making travel arrangements and other administrative duties as required.
Manage correspondence between IGC and interested parties, ensuring that actions are tracked, and commitments met.
Coordinate quarterly IGC meetings and IGC attendance at various meetings / conferences as required. All travel and meeting coordination must be arranged in the most cost-effective manner.
Be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the IGC, which include follow-up on action items, collating, abstracting and synthesizing materials, file management for meeting materials, resolutions/motions, correspondence records, and other relevant materials in an efficient and orderly manner.
Provide input into financial statements and budget summaries, with the help of the Finance team and/or Executive Director. Assist the IGC with budgetary tracking and meeting its fiscal responsibilities.
Maintain a current inventory and reference catalogue of Hunters & Trappers Committees by-laws that are required for the enablement of the regulations under the NWT Wildlife Act
Qualifications:
Minimum completion of a post-secondary degree/certification with a focus on
+Wildlife Biology
+Environmental Management
+Office Administration or equivalent is required. A combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered as an equivalent to meet this requirement.
+Proven ability to work independently and without close supervision in a co-operative environment.
